The European research project COSMOS has reached a major outreach milestone after being featured in a special report broadcast by TV3, Catalan public television. A news team from the regional network visited one of the project’s experimental Demo Sites to get a first-hand look at a cutting-edge agroforestry system that integrates truffle cultivation with sustainable oak stand management.
During the technical visit, COSMOS project coordinator José Antonio Bonet (researcher at Agrotecnio), along with experts from the Forest Science and Technology Centre of Catalonia (CTFC), guided the film crew through the site. Throughout the segment, they demonstrated how the synergy between precision silviculture and truffle farming boosts rural economies, protects biodiversity, and optimizes natural resource management in the face of climate change challenges.
